FAQ
My data is duplicated! Howto fix that?
Please check if there is another sync application on your system that might cause the issue. Check if your system has all system upgrades and if fruux is installed in the correct location.
1) Initial Preparation Steps:
- Decide which Mac is your "master" Mac including your correct/up2date data
- backup your data (very important, if anything goes wrong, you are still save)
- Disable "Always keep synchronized" in fruux on ALL Macs (VERY IMPORTANT)
2) "Slave" Preparation Steps:
- open "Addressbook.app" and delete all contacts and groups
- open "iCal.app", create a "temp" calendar and delete all other calendars (iCal wont allow you to remove the last calendar, thats why we create a "temp" calendar first)
- open "Safari.app" and delete all bookmarks
Now we have your "master" Mac, including your up2date/correct dataset, backups of your data (just in case) and your prepared and empty "slave" Mac(s).
2) Putting the correct data in the cloud:
- open fruux
- open the "Revert" tab
- click "Replace on Server"
- wait until "Sync OK"
Now all your data from the "master" Mac is in the cloud
3) Then on the other Mac(s):
- close all apps
- open fruux
- open the "Revert" tab
- click "Reset this computer"
- wait until "Sync OK"
Now all the data from your "master" Mac is on your "slave" Mac. Repeat the steps if you have more than one "slave" Mac.
4) Final steps:
- re-enable "Always keep synchronized" on all Macs
